What is Stick Mobility?
Stick Mobility is a one of a kind corrective exercise tool that allows the user to manipulate tight muscles and joints in 4 dimension patterns. Personally, I would describe Stick mobility as Extreme Yoga using a flexible pole for support, balance and kinetic feedback. If you are a Corrective Exercise Specialist, or Physical Therapist looking for a very applicable rehabilitation tool to help you release and activate soft tissues, then this is the proper tool. If you are bored with the conventional textbook stretches for workout recovery, then Stick Mobility is definitely for you. If you suffer from lower back problems and need a solution to rid back aches from your life then read on!

The Science Behind Stick Mobility?
Stick Mobility workouts are centered around the key components of human movement science; Intrinsic stabilization, promotion of arthrokinemeatic range of motion and proprioception. The Stick Mobility system was founded by three well educated California Corrective Exercise Specialists. By applying Sherrington Law of reciprocal innervation to human movement, these three geniuses conceptualized and developed the Stick Mobility system. Being a Mesa Arizona Corrective Exercise Specialist, I can appreciate the application of Stick Mobility. Does it really work? You bet it does!
Pricing and Unboxing
I purchased 3 sets of sticks to use with my Corrective Exercise Practice. Set one consisted of two 6′ poles for $138.00, Set two consisted of two 5′ poles for $118.00, and the third set consisted of two 4′ poles for $98.00. As you can see in the photo below, these are not hardware store quality wooded dowels or cheap PVC pipes. They are very high quality, aesthetically pleasing flexible poles with durable solid rubber grips. As a Mesa Arizona Corrective Exercise Specialist who works with numerous clients of different shapes, sizes, and dysfunctions, I need multiple pole lengths. One size doesn’t fit all.
(Shown on the Right: Orange Colored Poles – 4′, 5′ and 6′ Stick Mobility poles)
The Fitment Guidelines specifying stick size, recommend the following:
- 6 footers and 4 footers if you are under 5’10” tall
- 7 footers and 5 footers if you are 5’10” or taller
- 8 footers if you are 6’4″ or taller
Value and Pros and Cons
How Will these Stick Mobility Poles Improve My Current Level of Fitness?
I personally find a ton of value implementing Stick Mobility movements into my personal fitness repertoire, as well as my client’s corrective exercise programs. The Stick Mobility Poles offer the user huge gains in flexibility and balance in a short amount of time. I find it beneficial in helping individuals with soft tissue length tension imbalances. For those individuals who suffer from chronic back problems, Stick Mobility will help recondition a weakened intrinsic stabilization system while lengthening short overactive tissues. Another benefit is the ability to progress stretch intensity throughout multiple movements. Most of all, my clients love this style of working out! As a Mesa Arizona Corrective Exercise Specialist with over 22 years in both the medical and fitness industry, I can vehemently say that Stick Mobility is a home run from both a personal and professional point of view. Best of all Stick Mobility is the ideal tool for the Corrective Exercise Specialist or Physical Therapist.
What are the benefits of Stick Mobility compared to wooden dowel rods?
I believe the price is commensurate with what you get, which is HIGH QUALITY! Stick Mobility offers an ingenious product at a fair price. The standard poles offer just the right amount of flexibility to position the body in unusual positions, and have well made solid rubber hand grips to prevent hand slippage. On more than one occasion, I have been asked if I feel safe when placing an extreme flex on the pole. My answer is always YES! The material composition is very similar to that of a Pole Vaulters Pole. And, if you weigh over 220 pounds or are very strong, Stick Mobility offers an optional heavier pole for an additional $30 per pole. Best of all, these poles look sharp compared to a wooden dowel or PVC pipe. And you don’t have to worry about wood splinters!
What Cons should I think about before purchasing a set of Stick Mobility Poles?
Product wise, no apparent cons, however in the educational realm of things, I think Stick Mobility can do better. With the purchase of Stick Mobility poles you are only provided access to 17 short 1 minute video clips of basic movements. The short clips are designed to be a teaser. The next level of learning gets costly. You are required to join the Stick Mobility Membership Video Club if you want to learn more movement exercises. This will cost $9.99 per month to view 100 additional short video clips. If you desire a more comprehensive hands on approach, then Stick Mobility does provides small group live workshops for $99.00, or certification classes for $599-$799 depending on how early you sign up. Frankly, I believe Stick Mobility should throw the consumer a bone and offer all the videos and workshops for free.
In summary.
Stick Mobility gets my full endorsement. I predict that Stick Mobility group exercise classes will begin to crop up in the small boutique gyms and later in the big box gyms. These sticks are a blast to work with and can be challenging. Everyone should own a set and incorporate movements into their weekly workouts. They are also appropriate for seniors too, who in my opinion, would benefit the most. In the meantime, as a niche’ Mesa Arizona Corrective Exercise Specialist, I’ll enjoy all the unusual looks people give me when I judiciously use them on my clients.
